An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.
The Hebrew word most often (there are others) translated as “sin” (Chata’ah) in English text, was derived from an archery term, literally meaning “to miss the mark”. It is an error, mistake, or case of “missing the target”. And it is in our very recognition that we are in error, or have made a mistake, that change and transformation can begin to be enacted within us. By continuing to focus and take aim at the target, we can ultimately overcome those obstacles that are hindering us, and hit the bullseye…winning the prize that has been awaiting us all the while.
